The Misenchanted Newsletter #164: The Time Has Come, the Author Said, to Speak of Many Things...
Usually of late I don't have much news and just send out a newsletter every month or so to remind readers I'm still here. This time, though, I actually have several things to tell you.
First off, for the Ethshar fans: Charming Sharra is on the way from Wildside Press. I don’t have an official release date yet, but I’m guessing it’ll be out before the vernal equinox. The cover art has been delivered, and here it is:
Next, on the audiobook front: The complete recording of The Ninth Talisman (Vol. 2 of the Annals of the Chosen) has been delivered, and I’m going through it to make sure it’s all good. When I’m done it should be released in a week or so.
Although I received a couple of offers from small presses, I’ve decided to go ahead and republish my former FoxAcre titles myself, under the Misenchanted Press imprint. I’ve been preparing covers and assigning ISBNs, and once I have all the files from FoxAcre I’ll be getting them back into print quickly, starting with the two Carlisle Hsing novels and a couple of short story collections:
As mentioned last time, Tom Derringer & the Electrical Empire is finally published, and is now available from the usual suspects in trade paperback and ebook form.
On the housekeeping end, I’m still getting a handle on how Substack works and what I can do with it. One thing I’ve done is I’ve copied the complete contents of my long-running personal blog, all the way back to 2001, into my Substack archives. It’s entirely possible you didn’t know I have a personal blog, as I’ve never done much to publicize it, but I do. It’s gone through a couple of iterations and names, all of which were eventually collected into “The Mind Control Lasers Lied to Me,” and that’s what I put in the archives. I’ve often neglected it, and much of its contents is of no interest to anyone but me, but it exists, and there are some good bits mixed in with the clutter.
Now, who can read the Substack archives, I don’t know yet.
I’m also planning to archive several items from my Patreon, but I’d prefer to make those for paid subscribers only, if I can figure out how.
And finally, on the writing front, I haven’t been making a lot of progress, but there’s some, mostly on The Dragon’s Price (not part of a series) and On A Field Sable (sequel to Above His Proper Station). Two Ethshar stories, Kelder the Small and an untitled one, are also inching along, as is Tom Derringer & the Sinister Statue.
I think that’s everything (so as soon as I hit “send” I’ll think of something else).
